Mindshadows was designed for the North Toronto Collegiate grounds. This is a proposal for a 200 metre long school fence. The concept explores the experience of education and through it a physical manifestation of letters and numbers. The ghostly, dissolving words in the fence are a transition between the rational structure of schooling and the chaotic, energized, barely balanced imagination of a young mind. As if a thousand letters are going for a walk and merge with the fence!
The steel mesh paving becomes an abstract time line of the school with critical dates and elements of the school history being embedded in concrete.
